I’ve struggled using AstroPad due to the distracting UI and realized working on a high resolution image with the app would slow the process down, especially when having a 4K screen look small on a 12.9 screen. And it got me thinking, “ What would happen if Apple had the guts to make the iPad Pro a 16 inch devices or one that’s close to an 11 by 17 illustration board? “. And I have seen videos and artists in person having had to ‘pinch and zoom’ in order to ‘pixel push’ especially on the Wacom Cintiq and iPad Pros. Once I finished testing Astropad as well on my iPad Pro, something bothered me which kind of confirmed my suspicions for a long time. Plus, the keys were comfortable and provides the ability to program any macro commands I need customized.

It has been a portable workhorse of mine for the last couple of years and complemented the iMac well, especially the new 4K iMac which now allows me to use Airdrop to move files instantly between my iOS devices and the desktop.Īnd with years of experience using the Wacom Intuos as resolution independent, it worked out beautifully along with my brand new Razer Cynosa Chroma keyboard that I just recently acquired through a Black Friday sale which was a steal. When they announced the Pencil stylus, it was what I’ve been waiting for to have some accurate line art or simulate traditional media effect.
#ASTROPAD STUDIO VS STANDARD UPGRADE#
I’ll start off by stating that I love the 12.9 original iPad Pro which was a huge upgrade over the standard iPad I’ve had for years.
